Accessing Data

QLSCD data are accessible to researchers unaffiliated on the premises of the Centre d’accès aux données de recherche de l’Institut (CADRISQ) located in Montréal, Québec City and Sherbrooke.

To access the data, researchers must create a profile in the Researcher Zone of the Research Data Access Point and fill out an access request that includes, among other things:

  • the purpose of their research
  • a summary of their research and analysis project
  • their contact information, and those of any researchers or assistants associated with the project
  • the location where they want to use the data, i.e., Montréal or Québec City
  • any documentation that you deem relevant

Once received, the access request is analyzed by the Research Data Access Point team, which makes the necessary follow-up to obtain the required authorizations and informs the researcher of the results. Researchers receive the necessary support for the submission of their access request and the implementation of their projects.

For more information or to submit a request, visit the Research Data Access Point website.

Special projects

If you are considering applying for a grant to collect information from the QLSCD sample as part of your research, please read the document Balises pour l’évaluation et l’encadrement des projets spéciaux dans l’Étude longitudinale du développement des enfants du Québec (ELDEQ) (updated on October 11, 2018) (in French only).

If you believe that your project meets the specifications set out in that document, please contact Delphine Provencal, Coordinator of the QLSCD Surveys Program, to find out about the next steps of the assessment process for special projects.
